As genuine backpackers, we decided to travel around Indonesia as cheap as possible right from the start. The vast majority of tourists arriving at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali takes the first available taxi without thinking. In fact, many yelling taxi drivers are waiting for them in the arrival hall. However, not many people notice the fact that Kuta is actually around the corner.

 

Unlike all these people, we decided to go to Kuta simply by foot.

 

The distance of less than 4km can be walked in about 45 minutes. Once you pass through the taxi car park in front of the airport building, head north on either Jl. Kartika or take the narrow alleyways straight through the area of small residential houses. Your destination will be the surrounding streets around Legian Beach.
